Simply a Great Man

I have known from a very early age that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a great man. There were no history books or, google search engines that educated me about this beautiful man.

My mother taught me all I needed to know. “He stood when others chose to sit. He spoke when others remained quiet. He preached love when others embraced hate.”

She took my hand in hers as tears streamed down her face. “He was simply a great man.”

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

With so much love to give in this world. Why do so many choose hate?
